The Delivery Partnership and SPA

The Delivery Partnership is a UK-wide, higher education sector-led, partnership of different education stakeholders (including key admission groups) within the HE sector.

The Delivery Partnership was established in autumn 2006 to implement reforms to the higher education applications process following the Government’s response to the DfES-led consultation on Improving the Higher Education Applications Process in May 2006. These reforms will improve the HE applications system by enhancing the provision of information for both applicants and universities in the interests of increasing transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.

One of SPA’s objectives is to work with the Delivery Partnership taking forward the changes to the HE applications process. Input from SPA includes: consideration of the recommendations with regard to good practice and fairness, and particularly of Entry Profiles; feedback to applicants; case studies with regard to application processing and decision making and other key national issues in admissions and recruitment.

In direct relation to this objective SPA has had a significant input into the work of the Delivery Partnership, including the Director of SPA chairing the Entry Profiles Working Group. This Group has taken forward the work to encourage the provision of clear, comparable entry requirement information through Entry Profiles. SPA has also produced the Statement of Good Practice - Feedback to applicants who have been unsuccessful in gaining a place at an HEI.
