Proposals for new funding model for SPA sought
Following its annual planning and budgeting exercise, UCAS has announced its intention to withdraw funding from the Supporting Professionalism in Admissions (SPA) programme by 31 December 2017. As things stand, SPA personnel will cease to be available by the end of September.
UCAS and the SPA team are exploring alternative models for funding and running the programme, and we would welcome any suggestions from colleagues in the HE community, or any expressions of interest.
If no alternative models can be found by the end of the year, UCAS has agreed to maintain an online service of SPA’s existing good practice and to commission updates from external experts where there is sufficient demand from the admissions community.
Janet Graham, Director of SPA said “We are of course disappointed with this decision and would welcome the opportunity to discuss alternative funding models. Our expertise and services are valued by the sector and we are grateful to colleagues in universities, colleges and other organisations who have worked with us over the years. We hope, with your input, to find the most effective way to continue to support your needs.”
If you would like to discuss these changes further, feedback to us, or send us any ideas, please email email@example.com or phone 01242 544891.
UCAS has published a statement on its website.
